  • Lighting Assessments & Photometrics

Put the right light in the right place.

For new installations and major lighting upgrades, Lighting Management can help evaluate fixture selection, mounting height, coverage, light distribution and appropriate illumination requirements — measured on site, not guessed from a catalog.

    Assessment Services

    What an assessment covers
    • Existing lighting assessmentsFixture type, condition, controls and how the system is actually performing today.
    • Nighttime site evaluationsA walk of the property after dark to see coverage, glare and dark areas as tenants and customers do.
    • Fixture recommendationsOutput, distribution and mounting matched to the space rather than a one-size-fits-all swap.
    • LED upgrade planningRetrofit versus replace, phasing, rebates and a “not to exceed” proposal.
    • Pole and fixture layoutsPlacement, spacing and mounting height for new lots and expansions.
    • Photometric coordinationCoordinated photometric layouts so coverage is proven before anything is installed.
    • Dark-area identificationMeasured spots below target so fixes go where they are needed.
    • Lighting-control recommendationsPhotocells, time clocks, occupancy and daylight controls sized for the property.

Photometrics: coverage you can see on paper

A photometric plan models how much light reaches the ground from a proposed fixture layout — the pole positions, mounting heights and fixture optics — and shows it as illuminance contours over the site plan. For a new parking lot, a pole replacement program or a property-wide LED conversion, it is how the layout is proven before poles go in the ground.

    • Target light levels and uniformity by area type
    • Pole spacing and mounting height
    • Fixture optics and distribution patterns
    • Spill and glare toward neighbors and roadways
    • Dark-area and hot-spot identification
    • A layout your engineer, AHJ or landlord can review

    When to assess

    • New construction or expansionBefore the first pole is set.
    • LED conversionTo size the replacement fixtures and confirm rebates.
    • After storm damageTo scope pole and fixture replacement properly.
    • Tenant or security complaintsTo measure the problem and fix the right thing.

Not sure what your property actually needs?

Start with an assessment. We will measure what is there, walk the site after dark, and give you a written recommendation with a plan you can budget against.
