What an underground fault looks like above ground

Breaker trips at duskA lighting circuit that holds during the day and trips when the photocell closes usually has a wet fault underground.
Whole run of poles darkSeveral poles out together points to a feeder, contactor or junction, not individual fixtures.
Fixture replaced, still darkA new fixture that will not light is the classic sign the problem is in the feed.
